Are YOU thinking about homeschooling?
All home educators have been where you are right now, wondering whether to take the homeschooling plunge, or not. My advice to you is, first, pray for guidance. Ask God to show you what is best for your child. Leave yourself open to His will.
Next, do your research! Talk with other families who homeschool. A great place to find home educators is at a Homeschoolers Hang Out meeting! There are many wonderful families who’d love to share their experience with you. The homeschooling population is steadily growing and as a result, tons of helpful books and articles on the subject are popping up everywhere. In fact, so many resources are out there, it can become overwhelming and confusing rather quickly into your research adventure. Ask a home educator for help. They are usually thrilled to share stories, loan books and pass along helpful web links!
Finally, do what is best for your family. Homeschooling can be a wonderful adventure and well worth your sacrifice and effort. Savor the time you spend with your kids each day. Children are such a blessing. They are loaned to us by God for a such a short period of time, so give them your best AND enjoy them!
